
BIOGRAPHY
Emily is a trumpet performer and educator, living in Orange County, California. She currently performs at Disneyland Resort, and has performed in groups such as the 2019 Disneyland All-American College Band, Workzone at Valleyfair Theme Park in Minnesota, Gold Wind Symphony, The Blackberry Project, Belle Air Brass, LA Marching Band, the Kyle Myers’ Big Band, the CSULB Wind Symphony, and the Saddleback College Big Band. Emily has also played trumpet both solo and in chamber groups for various churches. Her primary studies were with Darren Mulder and Rob Frear.
Emily's trumpet playing can be heard on albums that were recorded at Capitol Records and EastWest Studios. She can be seen on screen, with and without her instrument, on several television series and movies such as “Schooled,” “Platonic,” “Snowfall,” and most recently,“Rooster.”
Emily graduated with a BA in English Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing Certificate, and a Music Minor from California State University, Long Beach.
Along with performing, Emily has experience teaching privately and coaching. She has worked with students in the Long Beach and Santa Ana School Districts, and is currently in her third year working as a Music Instructional Aid for the Los Alamitos School District.
As a woman in the brass and jazz community, Emily hopes to inspire the next generation of musicians, especially young women, to pursue their passions with confidence, embrace their voices, and recognize that they are equally deserving of opportunities and representation in the field.
